What we aim for
This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. We believe it does.
That is not a promise we make loosely. Every page is checked automatically against those standards, at phone width and desktop width, every time the site changes. A page that fails cannot be published.
What that means in practice
- Every control has a real label, not a placeholder pretending to be one.
- Text meets the contrast the standard requires — we measure it rather than judge it by eye.
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, and you can always see where you are.
- Headings are in order, so you can move through a page by heading.
- Nothing moves, flashes or plays on its own.
- The site works at 375 pixels wide without scrolling sideways.
Where we know we fall short
Two things we would rather you knew:
- The security check on our forms is provided by Cloudflare. We have not audited it ourselves, and it may occasionally ask you to complete a visual task. If it stops you using a form, email us instead and we will take your enquiry that way.
- Automated checking is not the whole story. It catches a great deal, but it does not replace someone using the site with a screen reader. {TBC — arrange a manual test, and say here when it was done and what it found.}
If something does not work
Please tell us. It is the fastest way for us to fix it, and we would genuinely rather know.
