These terms cover using this website. They are not the agreement we would sign to build you a site — that is a separate document, and you would see it in full before agreeing to anything.

Using this site

You may use it to find out what we do and to ask us to quote for a website. Please do not:

try to break it, overload it, or get at anything you are not meant to see;
use it to send anything unlawful, misleading or abusive;
take our words, our design or our prices and pass them off as your own.

A brief is not a contract

You can build a brief and see a price without committing to anything, and that is the point of it. Sending a brief does not create a contract, and neither does our reply.

Nothing is agreed until we have both signed a Service Agreement, and nothing is charged until you have seen your site and said you want it.

Prices shown on this site are indicative. They include VAT. We may be wrong about what your site needs before we have looked properly, and if the quote differs from what the page showed you, we will say so and explain why.

What we do not build

We decline some kinds of work. The list is on our site and in our policies, and we may decline an enquiry without giving a reason.

Our content

The words, design and code of this site belong to us. You may read it, print it and share a link to it. You may not copy it for your own commercial use without asking.

The sailboat mark and the Lift name are ours.

When things go wrong

We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not promise it will never be down or never contain a mistake.

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Beyond that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website.

If you are a consumer, none of this affects your statutory rights.

Changes

We may change these terms. The date at the top says when we last did.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
